Jack O’Holleran provided depth for Nebraska at wide receiver, appearing in 16 games during his Husker career. A physical player, he made his biggest contribution as an excellent downfield blocker in NU’s previous option-oriented, ground based attack.
O’Holleran did not appear in a game as a senior after missing all of spring practice with an injury. He played in all 13 games as a junior in 2003, including making a pair of starts in wins against Oklahoma State and Texas A&M. O’Holleran also appeared in two contests in 2002 and one in 2001.
The North Platte, Neb., native was strong in the classroom, as he earned a pair of first-team academic All-Big 12 awards. He was also named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll nine times during his career. O’Holleran received his degree in business administration in May of 2005.
O'Holleran began the season atop the depth chart at "Z" receiver after a strong spring practice session. He played in all 13 games and was also a member of the kickoff return unit. O'Holleran drew his starts in the opener against Oklahoma State and against Texas A&M when Nebraska opened in a three-receiver set. He did not have any receptions, but returned two kickoffs for 27 yards at Missouri.
O’Holleran played in two games (McNeese State, Kansas) in reserve duty, but did not have any receptions.

O’Holleran played against Rice, but did not have a catch.
A walk-on, O’Holleran redshirted his first season at Nebraska.
Before Nebraska (North Platte HS)
O’Holleran played running back, punter and safety for Coach Bob Zohner at North Platte High School. O’Holleran was an all-state selection by the Lincoln Journal Star as a running back, and earned all-state honors from the Omaha World-Herald as a punter. O’Holleran led Class A in both rushing (1,876 yards) and punting (44.0 ypp) as a senior, and rushed for 3,334 yards in his career. He scored 40 career touchdowns, including 25 as a senior.
O’Holleran lettered three times in football, was a four-year letterman and all-state selection in soccer and played for North Platte’s Legion baseball team for four years. He was also accomplished in the classroom, finishing in the top 10 percent of his class. He was also a member of the National Honor Society.
The son of Tim and Molly O’Holleran, Jack was born on Aug. 18, 1981, in Wichita, Kan. O’Holleran earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Nebraska in May of 2005. He was a two-time first-team academic All-Big 12 selection. He also volunteered his time as a guest speaker for Omaha's Quality Living Program.
