Huskers Begin Game Week Preparations for SDSU
Lincoln- The Nebraska football team practiced for about two hours Monday afternoon inside of the Hawks Championship Center in a practice that Coach Bo Pelini saw as productive.
"I thought the practice had a good tempo," Pelini said. "I saw good things out of all three sides of the ball."
Pelini also spoke about this week's opponent, South Dakota State University, and the possibility that it would be the last time the Huskers faced an FCS school.
"Some 1-AA schools have beaten some 1-A schools in the past," he said. "But that's not something that I'm real big on (scheduling FCS schools)."
Pelini mentioned that sophomore linebacker Will Compton is ahead of schedule, but not quite ready to return,
"It is hard to say how far off he is," Pelini said. "Probably weeks. He is walking around and doing better. It'll take however long it takes for a bone to heal. He is ahead of schedule I think. Time will tell."
The Huskers will return to practice Tuesday afternoon to continue the week's preparations for Saturday night's 6 p.m. game that will be televised on a pay-per-view basis.
