Athletic Medicine

Since the 2006-2007 season the Huskers have used the spacious and technologically advanced Athletic Medicine Center within the Charles and Romona Myers Performance Center.

The Athletic Medicine Center opened in 2006 and is one of the most technologically advanced medical care and rehab facilities in the country. The spacious facility is four times larger than Nebraska's previous facility and includes a hydrotherapy area that features a three-level laned pool and a treadmill pool with two underwater cameras for evaluation and assessment.

The center also includes hot and cold tanks for student-athletes in addition to extensive rehab equipment. The X-ray room gives Nebraska's doctors and athletic medicine staff the ability to accurately evaluate injuries on site and includes hospital-quality equipment, while the facility also includes a licensed pharmacy. The Athletic Medicine Center was also designed with a student-athlete's privacy in mind, with private areas designated for X-rays, physical exams and other medical and rehabilitation needs.

Nebraska also features one of the most well-trained and highly skilled staffs in the country. The staff consists of five doctors, two therapist/athletic trainers, five athletic trainers and seven graduate assistant athletic trainers. The staff also includes a licensed massage therapist as well as counseling and psychological services.
