Huskers Wrap Up Third Practice in Florida

By NU Athletic Communications

Orlando, Fla. - The Nebraska football team worked out in helmets and shoulder pads for two hours on Thursday morning, practicing for the third straight day in Orlando in advance of Monday's Capital One Bowl matchup with South Carolina.

With the Capital One Bowl only four days away, Head Coach Bo Pelini said his team has prepared well to this point.

"We've had a good couple of days," Pelini said. "We started a little slow today, but we picked it up as practice went on. We've had some good preparation so far, we've just got to keep going throughout the week."

Pelini also touched on the status of junior tight end Ben Cotton, who returned to practice this week after missing the final two games of the regular season.

"He's feeling a lot better," Pelini said. "Today was his best day. We probably gave him his biggest load to date today. I think he's doing well. He's a physical guy that has experience. He's a good football player. He's an excellent player for us, and I'm glad we have him back."

Following practice, the Huskers continued their tour of Orlando theme parks. After visiting Walt Disney World on Tuesday and Universal Studios on Wednesday, Nebraska players and coaches were set to spend Thursday afternoon at SeaWorld.

The Huskers will practice in the afternoon on Friday, as both Nebraska and South Carolina will participate in the Day For Kids at Walt Disney World event on Friday morning. A coordinators and players press conference will be held on Saturday and a head coaches' press conference on Sunday. Nebraska's stay in Orlando then concludes on Monday, with a Noon kickoff against the Gamecocks.
