Lincoln - Nebraska Coach Bo Pelini and the Huskers met with members of the media Monday at Memorial Stadium to recap a season-opening win over Wyoming and NU's Saturday showdown with Southern Miss at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln.

The Huskers will put a pair of home winning streaks on the line against Southern Miss. Nebraska takes aim at its 10th straight win at Memorial Stadium and 14th consecutive win against a non-conference foe at home.

While the Huskers will carry a 13-game home non-conference winning streak into Saturday's game, the Golden Eagles will be hoping to snap a 13-game losing streak for their program. USM went 0-12 last season under Ellis Johnson, before opening 2013 with a 22-15 loss to Texas State. The Golden Eagles are led by first-year coach Todd Monken, who headed to USM after a successful as Mike Gundy's offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State. Monken also served on coaching staffs at LSU with Pelini in 2005 and 2006.

Pelini said the Huskers will be looking for a much cleaner and sharper performance in all areas of their game, after a 37-34 win in the opener over Wyoming.

"We have to clean up our football on both sides. I don’t think we played nearly up to our potential in any phase of the game," Pelini said. "I think it will serve as a wakeup call to our guys in some instances. I think most importantly, I think we will learn a lot from this, from watching the film. Our players will come in this afternoon and will have a really good understanding or a better understanding of what we are doing and why we are doing it, and also how to prepare, especially some of the younger guys that played for the first time. I think we will be significantly better.”

A full transcript of Pelini's session with the media, along with full quotes from senior quarterback Taylor Martinez, senior defensive back Ciante Evans, senior offensive lineman Jeremiah Sirles and junior I-back Ameer Abdullah are available in the links below.
