Lincoln -- Fans who missed tonight's Sports Nightly can listen to exclusive interviews on Join Nebraska Athletic Director Steve Pederson and Sports Nightly host Lane Grindle as they interviewed USC Athletic Director Mike Garrett and ABC/ESPN sportscaster Kirk Herbstreit about Saturday's showtown between the No. 14 Huskers and top-ranked USC.

Garrett was a two-time All-American running back and 1965 Heisman Trophy winner at USC. The College Football Hall of Famer went on to play five seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and four with the San Diego Chargers.

Herbstreit, a four-year letterwinner at quarterback for Ohio State, was the first Buckeye player recruited by both Pederson and Ohio State Coach John Cooper in 1988. At the time, Pederson was Cooper’s recruiting coordinator. Herbstreit became Ohio State’s co-captain and Most Valuable Player as a senior.

He now joins Chris Fowler, Desmond Howard and Lee Corso on ESPN’s College GameDay set, which visits Lincoln this weekend to showcase the top-ranked Trojans and 14th-ranked Huskers. Herbstreit also will be the analyst for Brent Musburger on Saturday’s 7 p.m. national telecast on ABC.

The Steve Pederson radio show airs on Mondays throughout the fall and winter seasons from 7-8 p.m. Fans can listen to each week's show across the state on the Husker Sports Network or online at
