San Antonio --- The Nebraska football team arrived in San Antonio late Friday morning to start preparations for next week's Alamo Bowl matchup against No. 20 Michigan.
The Huskers, who enter the contest with a 7-4 record after winning their final two games of the regular season, landed in San Antonio at approximately 11:40 a.m. and went directly to the team hotel. Coach Bill Callahan then joined players Zac Taylor, Cory Ross, Daniel Bullocks and Greg Austin as they met with the local media for the first time this week.
Nebraska did not practice Friday. Players have the chance to attend the San Antonio Spurs-Toronto Raptors professional basketball game tonight before getting back into the practice routine Saturday. The Huskers will put the final game plan in place with practices Saturday, Sunday and Monday with a final walkthrough scheduled for Tuesday.
The 13th Annual MasterCard Alamo Bowl, which pits two of the winningest programs in college football history, will be played on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at the Alamodome. The Huskers and Wolverines are set to kick off at 7 p.m. CST and the game will be seen live on ESPN.
