John Ingram joined the Nebraska Athletic Department in 1993 and currently serves as associate athletic director for capital planning and construction. His job is to create championship-level facilities for Husker athletic teams and to help develop forward-thinking plans for NU's future facilities.

Ingram coordinates the work for the Athletic Department's $115 million list of projects that includes the East Stadium expansion of Memorial Stadium; the Athletic Research Fit-Out Project; the Hendricks Training Complex for men's and women's basketball and wrestling; the Devaney Center improvements for volleyball; the outdoor track replacement and the Haymarket Park indoor practice facility for baseball and softball.

Ingram recently led the effort to complete an $8.7 million Student Life Complex that serves all 24 Nebraska varsity sports. The project is a state-of-the-art "home away from home" for 600 Husker student-athletes to learn and study. The complex opened in September 2010 and includes centers for academics, life skills, compliance, enrichment and technology. A multi-purpose room and a new training table for Nebraska student-athlete dining are part of the new complex.

Since 1993, Ingram has played a valuable role in the planning, design and construction of $300 million in projects. He was instrumental in the concept, design, negotiation and construction phases of the $50 million Memorial Stadium Improvement Project that included the construction of the Osborne Athletic Complex, which opened in 2006. Other projects completed include the $36.3 million Memorial Stadium Skybox Improvement Project and the $29.5 million Haymarket Park baseball and softball complex. In addition, he led the $20 million Memorial Stadium waterproofing and restoration project, and directed the development of the Nebraska Athletic Facilities Master Plan.

Ingram serves on the Nebraska Athletic Department Executive Team, and is a past chairman of the Chancellor's Campus Safety Committee. Ingram also directed facilities operations and security for the department from 1993 until 2010, when Athletic Director Tom Osborne asked him to work full time on capital planning and construction projects. Ingram also oversees the athletic department design center staff that coordinates all displays within the athletic department.

Before joining Nebraska's staff, Ingram was the physical plant director at Southeast Community College and the facilities and safety engineer at Lincoln's MetroMail Corp. He is the past president of the Capital Sports Foundation and the past section chairman of the American Society of Safety Engineers.

Ingram received an AAS degree from SCC-Milford in 1979 and a bachelor's degree in industrial management/distribution from Peru State in 1988. He also has done graduate coursework in the UNL College of Architecture, Community and Regional Planning Program, Urban Planning and Design. He and his wife, Catherine, have three children, Cole, Rachel and Jackson. Cole competes for the Nebraska track and field team as a hammer and javelin thrower.
