Honors & Awards

  • Big 12 Commissioner’s Fall Academic Honor Roll (2006, 2008, 2010)
  • Big 12 Commissioner’s Spring Academic Honor Roll (2009, 2010)
  • Brook Berringer Citizenship Team (2007, 2010)

Senior receiver Will Henry capped his Nebraska career in 2010 by serving in a reserve role at receiver. The 6-5, 215-pound Henry was one of the hardest working members of the Husker receiving corps throughout his career, and the result has been an increase in playing time in his senior season. Henry has seen increased playing time in the past two games with fellow senior Niles Paul sidelined by injury.

2010 (Senior)
Henry played in 12 games this season and has two receptions for 32 yards. He had a 24-yard catch in the season opener against Western Kentucky and an eight-yard grab at Kansas State.

2009 (Junior)
Henry played in six games, both as a receiver and on special teams. He had a one-yard reception in Nebraska's win over Louisiana-Lafayette.

2008 (Sophomore)
Henry played in nine games, primarily on special teams. He did not have a catch.

2007 (Redshirt Freshman)
Henry saw action against Iowa State and Ball State, but did not have a catch.

2006 (Redshirt)
Henry redshirted in his first season at Nebraska.

Before Nebraska (J.M. Hanks HS)
Henry was among the tallest receivers to sign with Nebraska since at least 1974. Henry played for Coach Ron Durks at J.M. Hanks High School in El Paso, Texas, and chose Nebraska after also receiving offers from Missouri, New Mexico State and UTEP.

As a junior, Henry caught 16 passes for 273 yards and three touchdowns. He enjoyed a breakout season as a senior, totaling 52 receptions for 917 yards and 12 touchdowns. His performance earned him Class 5A first-team all-state honors from
TexasHSFootball.com and honorable-mention Class 5A All-State honors from the
Associated Press. Playing defense as a junior, Henry recorded 35 total tackles and intercepted two passes.
