The Nebraska football team fine-tuned all phases of their game with a two-hour workout Wednesday afternoon in shoulder pads and shorts inside the Hawks Championship Center in preparation for the Saturday game against Kansas at 6 p.m.

“We worked on every phase of our game today: running game, passing game, blocking, tackling, catching and throwing,” Head Coach Bill Callahan said.  “We did it all today.”

The day saw the return of NU I-back Cody Glenn to the practice field.

“He went full go,” Callahan said.  “He was dressed up in pads.  We gave him some work.  We’re just gradually putting him into the mix.  He went full speed today.”

While Glenn returned to the practice, two Huskers remain held out of drills, as Steve Octavien and Clayton Sievers continued to nurse injuries.  As Nebraska waits for those two to heal, Callahan relies on the Nebraska trainers to keep him informed on the latest.

“I really lean on and trust our medical staff and trainers to give me the right information,” Callahan said.  “They do a great job treating our players.  I can only go by what they tell.”

The Huskers will continue practice with a Thursday afternoon workout in Lincoln.
