Lincoln, Neb. - The Nebraska football team continued its preparations for Saturday’s Big 12 match-up against Baylor with a two-hour practice in full pads inside Memorial Stadium on Wednesday.

NU Head Coach Bill Callahan addressed the media after practice and said he was pleased with the practice.

“We had an okay practice today,” Callahan said. “Not perfect, but we’re getting better. It was a good day.”

Callahan said the Huskers focused on goal line, short yardage and third down plays, their normal routine for a Wednesday practice.

“On a weekly basis we’ll handle the same situations on a daily continuum,” Callahan said. “Today it was goal line, short yardage and third downs. Those are the same situations that we practice week in and week out.”

On the offensive side of the ball, Callahan said he was happy to see starting quarterback Joe Dailey throw the ball well in Wednesday’s windy conditions.

“Joe had an okay day today,” Callahan said. “He threw the ball well in adverse conditions. He threw the ball well, and I’m pleased to see his progress.”

Nebraska will continue its game week preparations for Saturday’s 1:05 p.m. kickoff with the Bears with a practice in half pads on Thursday.
