1980 (Senior)

Schleusener was another one of Nebraska's first team All Americans in 1980. Co-captain of the Huskers his senior season, he also earned first team All-Big 8 Honors. He was two-time first team Academic All-Big 8 (in 1980 he had a 3.90 in Pre-Med) and a two-time first team Academic All-American. Winner of numerous scholarships, including a $1,500 grant from the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame.

1979 (Junior)

Schleusener's touchdown against Oklahoma his junior year made him one of the most famous offensive guards in college football. It came in the fourth quarter with 4:43 left to play, when center Kelly Saalfeld snapped the ball to quarterback Jeff Quinn, who deliberalty dropped the ballon the ground for Schleusener to pick up. Randy also earned First-Team Academic All American and All Big Eight Honors.

1978 (Sophomore)

At the end of his sophomore season, Schleusener had accumulated 74 minutes of playing time and was a letterman for the season. He had a good year as a special teams perfomer.

1977 (Redshirt)

Schleusener used his redshirt during his second season at Nebraska.

1976 (Freshman)

Schleusener played for the freshman team his first season with the Huskers.

Before Nebraska (Stevens HS)

Schleusener was a prep All-American at Stevens High in Rapid City. He was also an All-State basketball player.

Personal

Randy is the son of Richard and Elaine Schleusener. He was born on Oct. 23, 1957. Randy's major was Pre-Med in Arts and Science.
