Lincoln - The Nebraska volleyball team announced on Tuesday that it will conclude it's 2011 spring schedule with a 7 p.m. match against the Tianjin Bridgestone Volleyball Club on Saturday, April 23 at the NU Coliseum. It will be the Huskers third match of the spring, as they are also playing Wichita State at the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island, Neb., on Saturday, April 9 and the Huskers will host Iowa State at the NU Coliseum on Saturday, April 16.
Tianjin Bridgestone is arguably the top professional team in China as they recently won their fifth straight and eighth overall Chinese League Championship. Tianjin plays a fast tempo game and has several Olympians on its squad.
During its trip to the U.S., Tianjin will play Illinois, Kansas State, Creighton, Nebraska, Colorado State, NORCO Club, Laguna Beach Club and UC Irvine. Even though the Huskers and Tianjin Bridgestone are from different sides of the globe, the teams should see some familiar faces as Nebraska played several matches against Tianjin during its trip to China last summer.
