Kelsey Fien competed in 11 matches in 2013 • Notched a career-high 13 kills against Auburn on Aug. 31 and followed that performance with 10 kills and a .421 hitting clip at Saint Louis • Posted eight kills in Nebraska’s 3-0 win over Fairfield in the first round of the NCAA Tournament
Fien played in 14 matches as a freshman • Recorded a then-career-high five kills and a career-high four digs at Michigan State on Nov. 3 • Recorded 21 kills, eight digs and three blocks on the season.
Fien came to the Huskers from Frontier High School in Bakersfield, Calif. • Named the No. 19 senior in the country by PrepVolleyball.com and among the top five volleyball recruits in California • Was a 2011 Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 selection • Chosen as one of PrepVolleyball.com’s Senior Aces • Led her high school and club team with her natural athletic ability • Nominated for the Under Armour All-America team and Gatorade Player of the Year in California • Led Frontier High School to a 25-12 record in 2011 • Totaled 429 kills, while notching 403 digs and recorded 56 blocks as a senior • Was the first player in her high school’s history to record 1,000 career kills • Honored as a special mention All-American by PrepVolleyball.com following her senior year at Frontier High School • Named to PrepVolleyball.com’s Top-50 Junior list after producing 446 kills, 46 blocks and 289 digs in 2010 • Played with the Bakersfield Volleyball Club.
