In honor of Veterans Day Friday, the Nebraska men's and women's basketball programs have announced a special Military / Veterans Appreciation Promotion for this weekend's season openers for both teams. The Nebraska men host South Dakota Friday at 7 p.m. at the Devaney Center, and the Husker women host Arkansas-Pine Bluff Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Devaney Center.

"All active military personnel and veterans can receive one complimentary ticket to both events," Nebraska Executive Associate Athletic Director Marc Boehm said of the joint promotion. "Everyone here at Nebraska wanted to expand our salute to veterans beyond football, and we believe these season-openers offer the perfect opportunity."

Complimentary tickets are available for upper chair-back seats for the men's game on Friday and for general admission seating for the women's game on Saturday. To take advantage of this promotion, visit Huskers.com/tickets. Click on the promotions banner and enter the promo code MIL. The complimentary tickets can be picked up at Will Call on the day of the game, and military ID must be presented when tickets are picked up.

Nebraska Ticket Manager Holly Adam said the promotion for the men's game applies to upper chair-back seats priced at $10 apiece. The women's military/ veterans appreciation promotion applies to general admission tickets that cost $5 for adults and $3 for youth and senior citizens. "Our Athletic Department has a history of honoring our veterans and showing our appreciation for their service to the nation," Boehm said. "This is just one small way that we can say thank you."
