Lincoln – Nebraska men’s basketball coach Tim Miles and sophomore forward Shavon Shields are in Chicago for Thursday’s Big Ten Media Day.
Coverage of Big Ten Media Day on BTN and BTN2Go begins at 8 a.m. Thursday with 10-minute press conferences with each head coach. Coach Miles’ press conference is slated from 9-9:10 a.m. To watch the press conferences online for free, visit BTN.com and the Big Ten Digital Network.
In addition to his press conference, CoachMiles will also do television interviews with ESPN, BTN, SiriusXM and Fox Sports One, as well individual interviews with local, regional and national writers in attendance. Over 250 media members are credentialed for the event, which runs from 8 a.m. until Noon.
Shields, who is Nebraska’s second-leading returning scorer (8.6 ppg) and leading rebounder (5.1 rpg), will conduct interviews with national TV and radio, as well as one-on-one roundtable interviews with the media in attendance.
He is one of three returning starters from a Husker team that went 15-18 with only eight recruited scholarship player available a year ago. Nebraska moved into Pinnacle Bank Arena, a $179 million dollar facility for the 2013-14 season, and sold out its season-ticket allotment for the first time in program history.

The Huskers host Nebraska-Kearney on Monday, Nov. 4, in its first exhibition game of the season before opening the season with Game One presented by Ameritas on Friday, Nov. 8, against Florida Gulf Coast. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. and will be televised nationally on BTN.
