Huskers to Help Haiti Relief

By NU Athletic Communications

The University of Nebraska Athletic Department in conjunction with the Nebraska Chapter of the American Red Cross will be collecting donations for the victims of the earthquake disaster in Haiti at the women’s basketball game on Saturday, Jan. 23 (11 a.m. vs. Kansas State) as well as next weekend at the men’s basketball game on Saturday, Jan. 30 (12:30 p.m. vs. Oklahoma) at the Husker Multi Challenge track meet (on Saturday, Jan. 30 only), and at the Nebraska women’s gymnastics dual meet on Saturday, Jan. 30 (7:30 p.m. vs. Missouri).

While the local Nebraska Chapter of the Red Cross has already had their annual fundraiser at the Husker football and men’s and women’s basketball games, all funds collected this Saturday and next Saturday will go to the Haiti relief fund.

Red Cross volunteers and Husker staff and student-athletes will be collecting checks or cash in marked red cross buckets through halftime of each game and at the gates of the track meet on Saturday.  Thank you for your assistance in this worthy cause.

Admission to the women’s game Saturday is just $1 for general admission seating as part of the Pepsi Pack the House promotion.
