Connor Stillwell became a strong supporter on high bar during his sophomore season with the Huskers. The La Mesa, Calif., native competed in four regular-season meets on high bar for Nebraska, including the Stanford Open where he set a new career high.
Continuing to grow throughout the season, Stillwell finished out the year as the second pommel horseman in the Huskers' lineup at the NCAA Team Qualifiers in State College, Penn.
An all-arounder with a strong base on still rings, pommel horse and high bar, Stillwell was in position to help the Huskers as a freshman but was limited by injuries.
Stillwell finished 13th in the all-around at the 2010 USA Junior National Team Qualifier. He took fifth on still rings and 10th on pommel horse at the qualifier. He also competed on four events (pommel horse, still rings, parallel bars, high bar) on the Region I Team that won the 2010 Junior Olympic national championship in Knoxville, Tenn. Stillwell competed alongside 2011 NCAA all-around champion Sam Mikulak (Michigan).
Stillwell was also a competitor in the individual all-around at 2010 JO Nationals.
Stillwell competed out of the San Diego United Training Center, after previously representing the Mission Valley YMCA under Coach Walter Jaramillo.
A solid performer in the classroom, Stillwell earned first-team Scholastic All-America honors from USA Gymnastics in 2008, and honorable-mention accolades in 2009.
Stillwell is the son of Mark and Kristen Stillwell and has two brothers: Matson and Austin. Connor has not declared a major at Nebraska.
