Q&A with Eric Schryver

Eric Schryver is one of Nebraska's strongest competitors and regularly sees action on pommel horse, parallel bars and high bar for the Huskers. He competed in the 2011 NCAA Team Qualifier for NU on horse, rings, parallel bars and high bar and won three individual event titles in pommel horse last season. Hehas won one event title on parallel bars and one on horse thus far in 2012. A native of Richardson, Texas, Eric is a pre-medicine major at Nebraska.

Favorite TV show as a kid: Scooby-Doo

Favorite pro team: Pittsburgh Steelers

Favorite meal: Chicken Alfredo

Favorite vegetable: Broccoli

What you would do with a time machine: Take a sneak-peek at my future

When you're not competing, you like to: Just relax and take advantage of any down time that I can find.

Superpower you wish you had: The ability to read minds

Best friends on the team: Mark Ringle, Andreas Hofer

Best athlete you've competed against:  Ivan Ivankov

Why you chose Nebraska:  It was just the best overall combination of athletics and academics and I felt at home here.

Best thing about Nebraska: The importance of the athletic department and sports, not only to the athletes and other students, but to the entire state. The entire state of Nebraska bleeds Husker red.

What you want to do after college: My goal is to attend medical school and ultimately become an orthopaedic surgeon.
