2013 • Junior Season
Emily Wong cemented her position as one of the nation’s top all-around competitors in 2013, finishing in a tie for third nationally at the 2013 NCAA Championships with a score of 39.525. Her outstanding performance at the national championships included four All-America honors, including first-team accolades on vault, floor and in the all-around and second-team laurels on beam. Her work on vault and floor earned her two spots in the NCAA event finals, where she finished third on floor (9.9125) and 10th on vault (9.8833).

Wong snagged a total of 24 titles in 2013, including seven in the all-around. Her regular season efforts resulted in two Big Ten Gymnast or Co-Gymnast of the Week honors alongside first-team All-Big Ten accolades and an Academic All-Big Ten honors. She also captured NACGC/W first-team All-America laurels on bars, beam, floor and in the all-around.

Wong saved her finest performance of the season for the Big Ten Championships, winning the all-around for the second consecutive year with a career-high 39.725. She became the first Big Ten gymnast to win back-to-back conference all-around titles since Penn State’s Brandi Personett (2007-08). Wong was also the conference champion or co-champion on floor, beam and bars and earned four All-Big Ten Championship Team awards. In just two seasons, Wong now owns seven Big Ten titles and eight championship team honors.

She followed by finishing second in the all-around at the NCAA Morgantown Regional with a 39.225, including a meet-best and career-high 9.95 on vault. Her performance enabled her to qualify for the NCAA Championships as an individual in all-around competition.

With eight NCAA All-America honors to her name, Wong's career total is now fourth all-time at Nebraska. Her four awards at the 2013 championship meet were the most in a single season for any Husker since Emily Parsons captured four honors in 2005.

2012 • Sophomore Season
Wong put together another stellar season in her sophomore campaign at Nebraska, capturing first-team All-America honors on beam and adding second-team accolades on floor and in all-around competition at the NCAA Championships in Duluth, Ga. Wong also qualified for the beam finals at the NCAA Championships, posting a score of 9.825 to finish tenth.

Wong saved one of her finest performances of the year for the conference championship, winning titles on beam (9.900) and floor (9.900) and earning Nebraska's first Big Ten Championship individual all-around title (39.600). She was an All-Big Ten championship team selection on vault, beam, floor and all-around, adding to her first team All-Big Ten honors and Academic All-Big Ten honors.

Wong competed in the all-around 12 times throughout the 2012 season, earning two individual all-around titles while tacking on an additional five titles on beam, three on floor and one each on bars and vault. Her top all-around performance of the year came against top-ranked Florida on March 4, where the Grand Forks, N.D. native posted a score of 39.750 to win the all-around title.

2011 • Freshman Season
Emily Wong capped an impressive freshman season by claiming first-team All-America honors on bars at the 2011 NCAA Championships. Wong's score of 9.875 in the semifinals helped the Huskers advance to the NCAA Super Six Team Finals. NU took fourth at the Super Six, thanks in part to Wong's 9.90 on bars. She added an 11th-place finish at the Event Finals with an average of 9.8125.

Wong notched four event titles on the season, including three on bars and one on beam. She posted a 9.90 on beam at the Big 12 Championships, tying for third and earning All-Big 12 Championship Team honors. She tallied career highs of 9.90 on bars, 9.90 on beam and 9.875 on floor as a freshman.

Wong was also named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll during the fall and spring semesters.

Before Nebraska
Wong competed for coaches James and JJ Bayer at Red River Valley Gymnastics in Grand Forks, N.D. She was the North Dakota state all-around champion in 2008 and 2009, in addition to being the North Dakota vault, bars, beam and floor champion in 2009. She placed fifth in the all-around, fourth on bars and third on beam at the 2009 regionals. Wong garnered a 10th-place finish on beam and came in 16th in the all-around at the 2009 Junior Olympic National Championships.

A 2010 graduate of Red River High School, she was a member of the National Honor Society, the National Technical Honor Society and the Honor Roll. She chose Nebraska over Iowa State, Southern Utah and Southeast Missouri State.

Personal
Emily Wong was born on Aug. 7, 1992 in Grand Forks, N.D. She is the daughter of John and Karen Wong and has two sisters, Melissa and Lindsey, and one brother, Michael. Emily is a nutrition science major and earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall of 2011 and 2012, and the spring semester of 2012. She was also a two-time Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll selection in 2010-11.
