Katelyn Busacker joined the Huskers in the fall of 2011 and gave them much-needed depth on bars and beam during her one year at NU. A former three-time letterwinner from Ball State, Busacker competed in five meets for NU during her senior season. Busacker's best performance came in NU's road meet against Oklahoma, Minnesota and Centenary in Norman, Okla., where she posted a career-high 9.825 on beam to secure the road upset over No. 5 Oklahoma.
Busacker competed in both the Salt Lake City Regional and the NCAA Semifinals, with her best performance coming in Salt Lake City after posting a 9.75 on beam.
Busacker was a three-year letterwinner at Ball State before transferring after her junior season to Nebraska. While at Ball State, Busacker competed mainly on the beam and uneven bars where she posted a career high 9.85 on bars and 9.825 on beam, both in her junior season. As a sophomore, Busacker scored 9.70 or higher five times on beam.
Busacker competed for coaches Cathy Cahoy-Seaton and Raechel Germain at Cahoy's Gymnastics training center in Omaha, Neb. Busacker was a Level 10 competitor in high school
Busacker was born on Nov. 15, 1989, in Omaha, Neb. She is the daughter of Jeff and Terrie Busacker, and has two sisters, Krista and Kelly. Busacker has a one year old child, Ava Marie. Busacker majored in nutrition, health and exercise sciences at Nebraska. She earned her bachelor's degree in December of 2012.
