2013-14 (Senior)
Payton Michaud continued to be one of Nebraska's best divers in her final season.  Michaud earned 10 top-five finishes, including a victory and four runner-up finishes.  Michaud's best meet of the year came against Iowa State, where the diver produced a first-place finish in the three-meter dive and a second-place finish in the one-meter dive.  Michaud also had a successful Big Ten Championships, where she earned top-20 finishes in both the one-meter (16th) and three-meter (19th) dives.  Michaud ended her career at the NCAA Zone D Diving meet, earning a 21st-place finish in the one-meter dive and a 39th-place finish in the three-meter dive.

Michaud continued to find success in the classroom, earning academic All-Big Ten honors for a third consecutive year. She also captured a prestigious Nebraska Student-Athlete HERO Leadership Award in 2014, while being named to the inaugural Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

2012-13 (Junior)
Michaud dove her way to 14 top-three finishes and nine victories in an outstanding junior season for the Huskers. She swept the diving events three times, winning both the one-meter and three-meter dives in meets against North Dakota/St. Cloud State, Nebraska-Omaha and Northern Iowa. Michaud also set a career best in the three meter with a score of 322.05 at the Iowa Invitational in December. She ended her season at the NCAA Zone D Diving Meet in March, finishing 28th in the three meter.

In the classroom, Michaud earned her second academic All-Big Ten award in 2013, while claiming spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters.

2011-12 (Sophomore)
Michaud was one of NU’s most consistent divers during her sophomore season. The Lincoln, Neb., native dove in the one-meter and three-meter events on the boards during the 2011-12 campaign and placed in the top five 12 times. She was able to set personal bests in each event during the course of the season, increasing her one-meter best by nearly 15 points against Illinois (299.18) and her three-meter score by more than eight points against Iowa State (306.67).

Michaud also performed well in the classroom, earning academic All-Big Ten honors.

2010-11 (Freshman)
Michaud stepped in and immediately became one of Nebraska’s go-to divers during her freshman season. On the year, she captured 15 top-five finishes, including five victories. All of her wins came in the one- or three-meter dives, and her best finish at the Big 12 Championships came with a fifth-place showing in the one meter. Her score of 284.15 was a then-career best in the event.

The Lincoln Northeast graduate also earned spots on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters of 2010-11.

Previous
Michaud was one of two Nebraska natives to join the Huskers in 2010 and the only diver in the recruiting class. Michaud swam for Lincoln Northeast High School and finished second in the one-meter dive at the 2010 Nebraska State Championships with a final score of 434.35. Michaud was also on the academic honor roll at Northeast.

Personal
Payton was born on Sept. 26, 1992, in Lincoln, Neb. She is the daughter of Hollie Michaud. A pre-criminology and criminal justice major, Payton earned academic All-Big Ten honors in 2012, 2013 and 2014, and a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2012-13. She was a two-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll. In the community, Michaud claimed a prestigious Nebraska Student-Athlete HERO Leadership Award in 2014, while also being named to the inaugural Tom Osborne Citizenship Team. She helped the swimming and diving team claim three consecutive Life Skills Team Awards in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
