The Nebraska swimming and diving team completed the first round of preliminary events on Thursday morning at the Big Ten Championships in Iowa City, Iowa. Thursday's morning preliminaries featured the 200-yard IM, the 50-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle.
Seven Huskers competed in the 200-yard IM, including Katie Davis, who finished 43rd in the preliminary round. Her time of 2:05.68 was a season best for the junior from Lincoln. Ellan Dufour and Nikolina Sabo finished back-to-back 54th and 55th for the Huskers in 2:07.08 and 2:07.36, respectively.

The 50-yard freestyle saw Ariel Weech finish 40th in the prelims, as eight Huskers competed. Weech's time of 23.47 was a season best. Freshmen Kelly Dunn and Rebekah Land also finished back-to-back at 53rd and 54th.
