Huskers Continue Competition at Big Ten Championships

The Nebraska swimming and diving team continued competition at the Big Ten Championships on Friday evening. The fifth session saw the finals of the 400-yard medley relay, 400-IM, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly, 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke and the 3-meter dive. The Huskers did not have any swimmers in the 400-IM or 100-yard breaststroke finals.

The evening began with the 400-yard medley relay, in which the Nebraska team of Ellan Dufour, Kristin Strecker, Natalie Morris and Ariel Weech finished eleventh in 3:45.98.

The 200-yard freestyle saw Hayley Martin and Kelly Dunn finish back-to-back 23rd and 24th in the 'C' final.

200-Yard Freestyle Results:
23rd - Hayley Martin, 1:50.01
24th - Kelly Dunn, 1:50.37

Shannon Guy tallied the best individual finish for the Huskers so far at the championships, tallying an eleventh-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly. Her time improved .04 seconds over her previous career-best, set earlier in the day.

100-Yard Butterfly Results:
11th - Shannon Guy, 54.23 (career-best, 2nd all-time at Nebraska)

Ellan Dufour wrapped up the individual swimming events for the Huskers in the 100-yard backstroke, in which she finished 22nd at 55.97.

22nd - Ellan Dufour, 55.97

The final event of the evening saw the 3-meter diving final in which four Huskers competed, highlighted by Alyson Ramsey's 23rd-place finish.
