2011-12 (Junior)
Ellan Dufour (pronounced du-FOR) returned to the pool with Nebraska for her junior season and competed in six events. Dufour produced top-five finishes on nine occasions, including three wins in the 200-yard backstroke (UNO, Iowa State, South Dakota State) and a win in the 100-yard backstroke (Iowa State).

In the classroom, Dufour earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters of 2011-12.

2010-11 (Sophomore)
Dufour took immediate strides forward for the Huskers during her sophomore year. She ranked second on the team with 22 top-five finishes on the season. Dufour also marked her place in Husker history with the second-fastest 100-yard backstroke in school history (55.08). The Medicine Hat, Alberta native also helped the 200- and 400-yard medley relay teams to the record books, including the fastest 200-medley relay time in school history (1:41.08), along with teammates Shannon Guy, Kelsey Grushecky and Ariel Weech. Dufour also earned a spot on the 2011 spring Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2009-10 Season (Freshman)
Dufour produced an impressive freshman season at Nebraska with 14 top-five finishes to rank ninth among the Huskers and fourth among NU freshmen. She recorded five wins, including three in the 200-yard backstroke and two in the 100-yard backstroke. Her times in the 100 and 200 backstrokes were the best by a Husker in 2009-10.

Previous
Dufour swam for the Alberta Marlin Aquatic Club team for Coach Peter Schori in high school, and was named team captain in both 2007-08 and 2008-09. She also earned the team Leadership Award both years. Dufour competed in the 2008 Canadian Olympic Trials, and at the 2008 Age Group Nationals, where she finished third in the 100-yard backstroke. She was a member of the Honor Roll at Crescent Heights High School five consecutive years. She was also a Super Seven Award winner.

Personal
Ellan was born on Feb. 1, 1991, in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada. She is the daughter of David and Irene Dufour and has two brothers, William and Graeme. Ellan is majoring in veterinary science at Nebraska and earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall of 2011 and 2012, and the spring semester of 2012. She was also a member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in the spring of 2011.
