Zimmerman Finishes Second in Hammer Throw

Fayetteville, Ark.- The Husker throwers kicked off competition at the Arkansas Spring Invitational on Friday night as Victoria Zimmerman finished second in the women's hammer throw. Zimmerman recorded a mark of 185-10 (56.65), while Alena Krechyk of Kansas finished first with a throw of 198-06 (60.51).

On the men's side, Cole Ingram posted a seventh-place finish in the seeded hammer throw. Ingram notched a throw of 169-05 (51.65). Jacob Griess competed in the unseeded hammer throw, finishing third with a mark of 160-08 (48.97).

The Huskers continue competition at the Arkansas Spring Invitational tomorrow as the field events are slated to begin at 9 a.m. with the women's discus and running events set to begin at 1:30 p.m. with the 3,000 meters women's steeplechase. Live results can be viewed at FlashResults.com.
