Dexter McKenzie led the Huskers in five indoor meets in 2013... set and indoor personal best of 6.85 in the 60 meters at the Mark Colligan Memorial on Feb. 9... also posted a personal-best time of 21.00 in the 200 meters at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite, to move to third all-time in Nebraska record books... notched a personal-best time of 47.84 in the 400 meters at the Mark Colligan Memorial... finished 13th in the 60 meters at the 2013 Big Ten Indoor Championships, posting a time of 6.86... notched a fourth-place finish in the 200 meters, recording a time of 21.26 at the indoor conference meet... helped the men's 4x400 meter relay team to a first-place finish and a time of 3:06.67 at the conference championships, earning All-Big Ten honors.
2012 (Sophomore/Freshman)
McKenzie became an honorable-mention All-American in 2012, helping the men's 4x100-meter relay team to a showing at the NCAA Outdoor Championships... finished sixth in the 200 meters at the 2012 Big Ten Indoor Championships (21.72)... recorded a sixth-place finish in the 100 meters at the 2012 Big Ten Outdoor Championships, recording a time of 10.64... finished eighth in the 200 meters at the Big Ten meet with a time of 21.32... posted a season-best time of 7.02 in the 60 meters at the adidas Classic on Jan. 21... recorded a personal-best mark of 21.47 in the 200 meters in the preliminary round of the Big Ten Indoor Championships... finished with a long jump of 23-1 3/4 at the Mark Colligan Memorial... posted the top Nebraska time and a personal-best mark of 10.41 in the 100 meters at the Nebraska Invitational... also notched a personal-best time of 20.86 in the preliminary round of the 200 meters at the 2012 Big Ten Outdoor Championships... recorded a time of 20.90 in the 200 meters at the NCAA West Preliminary Round.
2011 (Freshman/Redshirt)
McKenzie had a solid first indoor season for Nebraska... posted a personal-best 7.01 in the 60 meters and 21.96 in the 200 meters at the Frank Sevigne Invitational... cleared a personal best of 23-2 1/2 in the long jump to take second at the Nebraska Tune-Up... triple jumped 46-2 3/4 at the Nebraska Tune-Up and won the event title... finished the indoor season with a 22-1 1/2 long jump and a 44-2 triple jump at the Big 12 Indoor Championships.
Before Nebraska (Munro College)
McKenzie joined the Huskers for the 2011 season with raw talent in the jumps and sprints... product of Munro College in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica... cleared a personal best of 24-1 in the long jump on Feb. 13, 2010... triple jumped 48-0 1/2 and split 46.9 in the 400-meter relay... took fifth at the 2010 Jamaican Boys Championships in the 200 with a time of 21.62... came to Nebraska with Munro College teammate Jodi-Rae Blackwood... the pair was instrumental in Munro running the top 4x400-meter relay preliminary time out of 700-plus teams at the 2010 Penn Relays, as they ran 3:12.54, before injuries affected the team prior to the final, where they finished sixth.
