2014 (Junior)
Jacob Griess competed in three weight throw competitions for Nebraska during the 2014 indoor season… recorded a season-best mark of 52-5 ½ (15.99) in the weight throw at the Mark Colligan Memorial in a sixth place finish.

2013 (Sophomore)

Griess competed in six meets during the 2013 indoor season... recorded a personal-best mark of 54-11 1/2 (16.75) at the Holiday Inn Invitational on Jan. 11...participated in five meets during the 2013 outdoor season...posted a season-best distance of 178-4 (54.35) in the hammer throw at the Nebraska Invite on May 5...earned a top finish in the hammer throw with a toss of 172-0 (52.42) at the Pre-Drake meet on April 24... earned academic All-Big Ten honors and claimed sports on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters.

2012 (Freshman)
Griess competed in six meets during the indoor season... notched a personal-best throw of 53-10 1/4 (16.41) in the weight throw at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational on Feb. 3... posted a throw of 52-8 1/2 (16.37) at the Nebraska Tune-Up on Feb. 17... competed in four meets during the outdoor season... posted a season-best throw of 173-9 (52.96) in the hammer throw at the Nebraska Invitational on May 5... recorded a throw of 171-11 at the Nebraska Mini Meet on April 25... was named to the fall 2011 and spring 2012 Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.

2011 (Redshirt)
Griess redshirted both the indoor and outdoor seasons in his first year at Nebraska.

Before Nebraska (Grand Island Northwest)
A one-time Nebraska state qualifier in Class B, Griess worked to develop into a weight and hammer thrower for the Huskers... owns a shot put personal best of 50-0 and has tossed 160-0 in the discus... placed 11th in the discus as a junior at the state meet with a throw of 142-11.

Parents are Mel and Julie Griess... born June 20, 1991... majoring in psychology.
