Lincoln - The Nebraska track and field team again showed that it excels on and off the track as 84 student-athletes were named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll. A total of 330 Nebraska student-athletes received the honor, including 50 with perfect 4.0 GPAs for the Spring 2011 semester.
The Husker women had a total of 43 student-athletes named to the list and an impressive 19 student-athletes produced a perfect 4.0 GPA during the spring, including NCAA qualifiers Tara Korshoj, Ashley Miller, Morgan Wilken and Natalie Willer. The other 15 Huskers included Rachel Birtles, Martina Barinova, Erin Hannon, Suzanne Higgins, Annie Jackson, Cami Jiskra, Mary Klosterman, Anne Martin, Mary Morales, Jordan Oddo, Sarah Plambeck, Jade Siegel, Kayla Ubel, Alyssa Vierregger and Katie White.
Nebraska's men added another 41 overall honorees and four student-athletes with a 4.0 GPA, led by senior Eric Lund, who will run on the Huskers' 4x400-meter relay at nationals later this week. Alex Adams, Brett Grieb and Nate Polacek also produced a 4.0 GPA.
The Huskers will compete at the NCAA Outdoor Championships starting on Wednesday, June 8 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. The four-day meet will run through Saturday, June 11.
