The 2012 college
baseball season is around the corner and the Husker Home Run Club is
hosting its annual preseason banquet on Friday, Feb. 3. For the second straight year the
event will take place at the Embassy Suites in La Vista, located just
off Interstate 80 at Exit 442.
The event includes
dinner and remarks from new Head Coach Darin Erstad and the NU coaching
staff, while members of the 2012 Nebraska baseball team will also be
present. The evening begins with a silent auction at 5:30 p.m., followed
by dinner and live auction at 6:30 p.m.
Some of the auction items include College World Series tickets, an Alex Gordon jersey, Nebraska vs. Penn State football tickets and a Brian Duensing Twins jersey along with four game tickets to the Twins' April 28th game with the Royals in Minneapolis as well as a room at the Graves 601 Hotel on Friday and Saturday night.
The event's key note
speaker will be former Husker and current Minnesota Twins' pitcher Brian Duensing.
The cost of the
banquet is $50 per person or $450 for a table of 10. All proceeds from
the event will go to the support of the
Nebraska baseball program. Invitations were sent to Home Run Club
members and season ticket holders earlier this month. A limited number
of seats are still available for this annual event, although
reservations are due Monday, Jan. 30.
