Miami Head Coach Jim Morris
We’re very happy to be here. We were here last year, and we respect the University of Nebraska program and what they’re doing out here in the Midwest. The only thing I didn’t like about coming out here is the ride. Coming from Miami to Nebraska is almost impossible, but we were fortunate enough to get a charter and get out here in three hours. That helped us a lot in travel so we weren’t so tired...But we’re excited about being here. We know there are some outstanding teams that have had outstanding years and we’re looking forward to playing in the tournament.
On the respect for Nebraska
To be honest, when I take the job 13 years ago at the University of Miami I didn’t even know what the University of Nebraska baseball program was. I knew they had a football team and heard they played Miami a couple times so I know we’re hated because of that. But I didn’t know anything about the team. And now to be able to come out here like we did last year and see the venue they play in and the fan support that they have. Their fans are great. They were great after the game and were very, very nice to us.
On overlooking San Francisco
They understand you have to beat everybody one game at a time. We’re not good enough to overlook anybody. We’ve lost four of our last six games. We have to be ready to play every time we get out there. They (San Francisco) have a better record than we do, and we are facing the best player in their conference.

On playing at Nebraska
Playing here last year, we got to see how the fans of Nebraska are. They’re here early and they’re in your ear. It helped us get ready for what we’re going to face this time. We have to play San Francisco first and can’t worry about Nebraska. If we take San Francisco lightly, they can beat us. They have a good program and had a good year this year.
