Scott Willman earned his second Big Ten Men's Golfer-of-the-Week award in three weeks on Wednesday following his season-best tie-for-fifth finish at the Jackrabbit Invitational on Tuesday.
Willman, who earned the honor on Feb. 29 as well, led the Nebraska men's golf team to a sixth-place finish in Nevada. The senior finished eight strokes off the pace at the Jackrabbit Invitational, shooting 3-under-par 213 for the tournament.
Willman opened play with a 1-over-par 73 on Monday. He followed that up with a 2-under-par 70 in the second round, which was also played on Monday. Willman matched his 70 in the final round on Tuesday, playing the middle 16 holes in 6-under-par. His season stroke average is now 72.52, which leads the team by nearly two strokes.
The Huskers return to action at the Denver Desert Shootout in Goodyear, Ariz., March 23-25.
