Huskers Tied for Sixth in Missouri
Columbia, Mo. - The Nebraska men's golf team shot 595 through two rounds at the C.O.G. Mizzou Intercollegiate on Monday and is currently tied for sixth.
The Huskers opened the tournament with a 299 at The Club at Old Hawthorne before firing 296 in the afternoon's 18 holes. Nebraska is tied with Purdue and is 31 strokes off the pace, which is set by tournament host Missouri.
Senior Scott Willman paced NU on Monday, posting 1-under-par 71s in both rounds. Willman has produced the team's best finish in seven consecutive tournaments, dating back to September's Kansas Invitational. In addition, he has scored seven straight rounds under par, dating back to the Jackrabbit Invitational.
Ross Dickson is tied for 23rd with 18 holes to play following his 149 total on Monday. The freshman carded a 76 in the first round before a 1-over-par 73 in the second round. Dickson is looking to produce his best finish of the season, which is currently his tie-for-37th at the Jackrabbit Invitational.
Manuel Lavin is tied for 43rd after posting 153 in the first 36 holes. Lavin opened with a 1-over-par 73 before ending the day with an 80. His second-round score marks the first time the sophomore has not broken 80 in 18 rounds.
Neil Dufford is one stroke behind Lavin, at 154. The junior from Midland, Texas is tied for 49th after a 79 and a 75 on Monday. Dufford, who has competed in every tournament this season, is seeking his best finish this spring, which is currently his tie-for-72nd at the Denver Desert Shootout.
Jordan Reinertson shot 156 after two rounds on Monday and is tied for 60th. Reinertson has been a crucial part of the Husker lineup this spring, playing in all five events. He paced his way to a 79 and a 77 in the first and second rounds.
Tuesday's final round is a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
