Huskers in 11th at Big Ten Championship
French Lick, Ind. - The Nebraska men's golf team shot 313 in Saturday's third round of the Big Ten Championship at the Pete Dye Course at French Lick and sit in 11th place with 18 holes to play.
The Huskers are at 934 strokes for the tournament through 54 holes. NU posted rounds of 308 and 313 on Friday. Illinois currently leads the team competition at 884 strokes. Indiana and Michigan State are tied for second at 891.
Jordan Reinertson is tied for 27th after 54 holes at the par-72, 7,125-yard layout. Reinertson fired a 3-over-par 75 in the third round to go along with his 75 and 80 on the first day. He is at 230 strokes for the tournament.
Ross Dickson moved up two spots from Friday to a tie for 31st. Dickson also carded a 75 on Saturday, helping lead the Huskers in the third round. He is at 231 strokes after rounds of 76 and 80 on Friday.
Scott Willman is alone in 49th place after an 83 on Saturday. The senior is at 238 strokes after shooting 79 and 76 on Friday. Willman, who has led NU in nine tournaments this season, started the day tied for 27th.
Manuel Lavin is two strokes behind Willman at 240. Lavin was also tied for 27th at the start of the day but posted 85 in the third round. The sophomore paced his way to a 78 and 77 on Friday. He is currently tied for 53rd.
Ryan Grassel posted his best score of the tournament with an 8-over-par 80 in the third round. The sophomore, who is in 58th, shot 84 and 83 in the first two rounds, giving him a three-round total of 247.
Illinois' Luke Guthrie leads Michigan's Matt Thompson by seven strokes at the conclusion of the third round. Guthrie fired a 5-under-par 67 in the third round after a 72 and 71 on Friday.
The Huskers will start their final round of the Big Ten Championship at 8 a.m., on Hole No. 10. Nebraska will be paired with Wisconsin.
