Huskers Open Tennis Season in Texas

The Nebraska men's tennis begins the fall season this weekend at the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational in Midland, Texas, beginning Friday, Sept. 14, at 9 a.m.

In singles play, senior Brandon Videtich and freshmen Dusty Boyer will compete in Friday's first-round action. Videtich will face New Mexicos's Mads Hugulund, and Boyer will play Tulsa's Matt Kirby.

Both Andre Stenger and Marc Herrmann earned first-round byes in the tournament.

In doubles action, Videtich and Boyer will team up for the first round. They face off against Texas's Joey Swaysland and Jacoby Lewis. The Boyer-Videtich pair received a first-round bye.

In addition to Nebraska, the tournament field includes Abilene Christian, Arkansas, Baylor, Davidson, Penn State, SMU, Stephen F. Austin, TCU, Texas, Texas-Arlington, Texas A&M, Texas State, Texas Tech, Tulsa, Tyler Junior College, Wichita State.

The Racquet Collegiate features competitors from more than a dozen men's and women's teams across multiple collegiate divisions competing at the Racquet Club of Midland, Trinity Tennis Center and the Midland College Tennis Center.

Day one results will be available on at the conclusion of Friday's matches.
