Individual Camp Philosophy
Our coaching staff has been successful at the high school, junior college and NCAA I, II, III levels because we stress the basics of basketball and how to get the most out of a team experience. Basketball is meant to be a fun game because it involves a group working together. It is our goal to help every camper improve their individual skills and their ability to work well with their teammates.
We believe that it is important to help improve the quality of basketball played throughout the state of Nebraska. We enjoy developing relationships with players and coaches who attend our camps. It is our goal that each athlete is given the tools to improve in their overall game. In addition, we hope to instill our desire and love of basketball to everyone we work with. Our coach-to-camper ratio will be one for every six to eight campers. Be ready to work and have fun!!
Each camper will receive an adidas Husker T-shirt and Gatorade products.
Camps will utilize the courts at Nebraska's new Hendricks Training Complex. The Huskers' new state-of-the-art practice facility was completed in October of 2011 and provides Nebraska with some of the finest all-around facilities in the nation for basketball training. Nebraska's 2015 camps will also utilize the renovated courts in the main arena at the Bob Devaney Sports Center, along with courts at the Devaney Center Indoor Track.
Campers are housed two to a room in the air conditioned residence halls. Any roommate preference should be mailed with your application (Two campers per room). No campers under the age of 10 are permitted to stay overnight in University housing.
Airport transfers are available upon request.
All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are provided for all Overnight Campers at Elite Camp. Lunch and dinner is provided for Commuter Campers at Elite Camp. Lunch is provided each day of Day Camp.
All campers must carry their own medical insurance. Nebraska Women's Basketball Camp and the University of Nebraska cannot be responsible for injuries sustained at camp. An athletic trainer will be on hand for all sessions, and a doctor is on call. We recommend that each camper be in excellent physical condition. This not only prevents injuries, but also makes the learning process much easier. Please notify camp staff in advance of any special health conditions or health care needs.
Before being admitted into camp, all campers must present a medical release form with a parent's and doctor's signature, along with a 2014-15 school physical.
All campers should wear or bring appropriate training gear. Overnight campers are expected to bring their own towels, blankets or sleeping bag, as well as toilet articles, and other articles of clothing as desired. Extra spending money for snacks, etc., may be helpful.
