For five decades, Nebraska Athletics has reinforced its sterling reputation of innovation in Strength and Conditioning. Nebraska was the first NCAA school to have a paid strength and conditioning coach, the first to lift weights in-season, the first to hold an official summer conditioning class for student-athletes and the first to offer a degree for strength coaching. The National Strength and Conditioning Association was founded at Nebraska and has since become the nation's largets strength and conditioning research association.

Nebraska Strength and Conditioning utilizes the Myers Performance Center, Ndamukong Suh Strength and Conditioning Center, Alloy Strength Complex, and the Hendricks Training Complex weight room to serve the school's student-athletes. The Nebraska Strength and Conditioning program provides Husker student-athletes with the finest training facilities in the nation.
Strength and Conditioning Performance Stduent-Athlete Support Services
- Twelve full-time Strength and Conditioning coaches work with student-athletes to achieve maximum performance potential and to prevent injuries.
- All student-athletes have access to the most advanced strength equipment and training atmospheres possible in our modern facilities that span three locations: The Ndamukong Suh Strength and Conditioning Center in the Myers Performance Center; the Alloy Strength Complex; and the Hendricks Training Complex.
- Strength and Conditioning coaches create training programs for student-athletes based on biomechanical and metabolically sound science.
- Nebraska Athletics uses Catapult GPS units to monitor student-athlete physical exertion and movement. The number of GPS units rented (65) are used by sports programs and researchers in the Nebraska Athletic Performance Laboratory.
