Huskers Geared Up for GARC Championships

Oxford, Miss. - The Nebraska rifle team is set to compete at the GARC Championships on Saturday in Oxford, Miss., as the 2011-12 campaign comes to a close.

The Huskers are 6-13-1 on the season with their most recent appearance at the NCAA Qualifiers where they finished third, shooting 4,596. NU's Janine Dutton was co-individual champion in the air rifle portion of the match, scoring 589. Joyce Kim led the Huskers in smallbore with her 571.

The Great American Rifle Conference consists of seven teams: West Virginia, Kentucky, Army, Mississippi, Memphis and N.C. State as well as Nebraska. Last year, the Huskers finished sixth while West Virginia won the team title.

Results will be available on following the GARC Championships. The NCAA Championships are set for March 9-10.
