After back-to-back wins against Air Force this past weekend, the Nebraska rifle team is ranked No. 6 on the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association Top 20 List.
On Saturday, the Huskers posted a season-high score to defeat the Falcons by a score of 4,685-4,629. On Sunday Nebraska came from behind to win by a score of 4,679-4,671.
Freshman Lauren Phillips made this week’s high scores list for her smallbore performances on both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s score of 587 earned her third place on the list, while Sunday’s score of 583 earned her 12th place on the list.
Sophomore Denise Martin also made the smallbore top scores list. D. Martin came in at seventh place with her score of 585 on Sunday. Freshman Rachel Martin and junior Kelsey Hansen also made the list with scores of 581 and 580 respectfully.
Hansen also made the air rifle list with her scores from both matches. Saturday’s score of 593 earned her ninth place and Sunday’s score of 591 tied her for 12th place with R. Martin and ReAnn Wilson, who both finished with a 591 on Sunday as well. Lauren Phillips score of 590 also got her on the list.
The Huskers will head to Lexington, Ky. this weekend for two matches against Murray State and Kentucky. Both matches are set to begin at 7 a.m.
