The Nebraska rifle team will take aim at the top teams in the nation throughout the 2014-15 season, including a trio of home matches at the NU Rifle Range to open the season, first-year coach Ashley Rose-MacAllister announced as part of the Huskers’ schedule release on Friday, Aug. 15.
Rose-MacAllister opens her first season at the helm of the Huskers when the Big Red battles Air Force at the NU Rifle Range on Oct. 4. The following weekend Nebraska returns to the NU Rifle Range to square off with Ole Miss on Oct. 11, before facing Rose-MacAllister’s alma mater, Murray State, on Oct. 12 in Lincoln.
The Huskers hit the road for the first time the next weekend, traveling to South Carolina to compete against NC State. After a week off, the Big Red will battle Memphis (Nov. 1) and Ohio State (Nov. 2) in Memphis, Tenn., before concluding the fall season in (Anchorage, or Fairbanks,) Alaska by taking on Kentucky (Nov. 22) and Alaska (Nov. 23).
After the conclusion of the first semester and the holiday break, the Huskers return to action Jan. 17 by traveling to West Virginia to take on the 2014 NCAA champion Mountaineers. Nebraska continues the weekend road trip by taking on Akron in Ohio on Jan. 18.
The Huskers return to the NU Rifle Range for their final two regular-season matches against TCU (Jan. 31) and Navy (Feb. 1). Post-season action begins on Feb. 14 with the NCAA Qualifiers in Murray, Ky.
