If you're a Big Ten Network fan or someone who loves the art of recruiting, Football 202's for you. With Tuesday, June 12 already billed as a day for the serious Husker fan who wants the inside scoop on Nebraska football, the lineup just got more interesting with two new wrinkles. First, Sean Callahan, the publisher of HuskerOnline.com, the Rivals.com Nebraska website, will discuss "Recruiting: Facts and Myths" in a panel discussion with Jeff Jamrog, Nebraska's assistant athletic director for Football Operations; Ross Els, Nebraska's recruiting coordinator and linebacker coach; and Austen Everson, director of High School Relations. Secondly, Jamrog said the 2012 version of Football 202 will now feature a panel of current Nebraska football players.
"It should be an interesting day," Jamrog said. "Adding Sean gives us two outside football analysts. We already had Howard Griffith of the Big Ten Network on the 202 program, so those two guys will complement the inside views our own coaches will provide. We really think this will be one of our most compelling Football 202 sessions. It's a perfect chance for fans to learn something from both inside the program and outside the program, and we're discovering that a lot of fans are buying this as a Father's Day gift for dad or grandpa."
Bo Pelini, Tim Beck and James Dobson are other featured presenters at Football 202. Pelini, Nebraska's fifth-year head coach, will give Husker fans a rare opportunity to see how he breaks down defensive film. Beck, NU's second-year offensive coordinator, will provide similar insight while breaking down film. Football 202 subscribers will get another rare treat with the opportunity to see Dobson. The Huskers' head strength and conditioning coach will lead a workout and showcase Nebraska's new state-of-the-art equipment.
For Nebraska fans, Callahan is a familiar face, voice and byline. In addition to his Tweets and inside recruiting tips on Rivals.com, he covers the Huskers for KFAB, the Omaha flagship station on the Husker Sports Network, and provides analysis for KETV, Channel 7 in Omaha, where he once played prep football.
Griffith is a studio analyst for the Big Ten Network and co-host on ESPN Radio Chicago. He wrote a sports memoir, Laying It on The Line: Notes of a Team Player. The publication charts his football and life journey from Chicago's South Side to two Super Bowl championships with the Denver Broncos. Griffith also has developed a reputation as a motivational speaker with his keen insight and knowledge of team dynamics. The personal and professional experiences that he shares includes strategies that can be used in any situation - from corporate sales to Little League teams and family units.
The $199 cost to attend the event includes a Nebraska polo shirt; coffee and rolls at the morning registration; lunch at the Champions Club across the street from the stadium; and an evening social event at the Embassy Suites Hotel in downtown Lincoln. Fans can register here or print this PDF and mailing in the registration form to Football 202, PO Box 800124, Lincoln, NE, 68588-0125.
