Dr. David Clare joined Nebraska's medical staff in 2007 as an orthopaedic surgeon. The son of Nebraska's Chief of Staff Dr. Pat Clare, David also joins his father and colleagues at Nebraska Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine, P.C.
David Clare has experience as a collegiate athlete, which complements his sports medicine fellowship training. He also has extensive fellowship training in adult reconstruction of the hip and total joint replacement.
Clare earned his bachelor's degree in biology from Nebraska in 1989. He was a member of the Nebraska football team from 1985 to 1988, before competing his final season at Nebraska Wesleyan in 1989. He earned his advanced degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1994, before spending five years in orthopaedic residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio from 1995 to 1999. He spent one year in an advanced training fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center, before earning his board certification as an orthopaedic surgeon in 2002.
David and his wife, Tana, have two sons, Patrick and Thomas.
