Chris Roekle joined the Media Relations Office as an intern in July of 2013. Along with serving as the primary contact for Nebraska's soccer team, Roekle also assists with the Huskers’ track and field program.
Prior to his time at Nebraska, Roekle worked for two years in the Athletic Media Relations Office at Division II Saginaw Valley State. He served as the primary contact for women’s volleyball, men’s golf, track and field, cross country, women’s basketball and baseball.
During his time at SVSU, Roekle was highly involved with the Cardinal Volleyball program in their run to the NCAA Tournament and acquired more experience statting the annual two-day Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC)/Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Volleyball Crossover Tournament.
Roekle was also in charge of growing the social media initiatives for SVSU Athletics in an effort to increase exposure in a smaller market.
In March of 2013, Roekle gained experience working as a volunteer at the 2013 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament Second and Third Rounds hosted by Oakland University at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
A native of Saginaw, Mich., Roekle is also a graduate of Saginaw Valley State where he earned his bachelor’s degree in finance in 2009. Roekle went on to further his education and obtained his master’s degree in business administration in 2013.
