Huskers Return to Practice Field for Tenth Spring Practice
Lincoln, Neb.--- The Nebraska football team hit the practice field on Friday, April 9, as it continues preparations for the annual Red-White Spring game, which is set for Saturday, April 17. After taking the day off from practice on Thursday, the Huskers utilized both the Ed and Joyann Gass practice fields and the Hawks Championship Center for a two hour workout in full pads for their tenth practice this spring.
After Friday's practice, head coach Bo Pelini addressed the media and said he came away impressed with how the offense performed during Friday's workout.
"I thought we had a real good practice offensively," Pelini said. "We did some good some good things on both sides of the football. We have a number of things we need to get cleaned up. We haven't installed in a few days. We're kind of just sticking with what we have in right now. We have a lot of basic things we have to keep getting fixed and keep working on, but overall it's OK. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's practice."
The Huskers return to the practice field on Saturday for a morning workout. Last Saturday's practice was mainly used for scrimmaging purposes, but Pelini noted this weekend's practice will not follow the same format.
"We'll have some scrimmaging and some regular practice," Pelini said. "It's going to be a little bit of a mix. It's not going to be like the same format as last week."
The Spring Game at Memorial Stadium is set for Saturday, April 17 with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. Check back to Huskers.com for more information on the Nebraska football team as they continue their trek through spring practices.
