It’s no wonder Kevin Ramaekers was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2007.  With a standout career as a defensive tackle, helping the Huskers to three consecutive Big Eight Championships and three straight trips to the Orange Bowl, Ramaekers was a major contributor to the Blackshirt defense, closing his career with a trip to the national title game.  Off the field, Ramaekers was a standout in the classroom, earning all-conference academic honors and the Region IV Academic Award for his outstanding work in school.  Since his graduation in August of 1993 with his degree in human development, he has been busy with his career and his family.  What does that include?  Get the inside info with Huskers 411 with Kevin Ramaekers.

Who is Kevin Ramaekers?
I would describe myself as an intense, fun-loving individual.  I love to have a good time and live life to the fullest.  With me, what you see is what you get.

What’s the most significant personal achievement or event that’s happened in your life since you left Nebraska?
I have been extremely blessed since I left Nebraska in 1994.  I was fortunate to meet an incredible student-athlete while at Nebraska. Falling in love and getting married to Heidi and seeing the birth of my two sons was incredible. I cannot imagine life without them.  They inspire me each and every day!

What’s the one thing you learned through your student-athlete experience at Nebraska that’s helped you the most?
I have to say the work ethic, discipline, and dedication. The entire staff, football coaches, academic counselors and trainers all had the same goals and message.  The talent on Coach Osborne's staff was incredible; they knew how to motivate you and teach you how to drive past your limitations.  The team concept and working as a unified group taught me so much more then just football.  I have used the same skills with my own family as well as in my career in corporate America.  Nebraska Football prepares young men for life after football; nothing has ever been mentally or physically tougher!

What are you doing now?
My family and I have enjoyed a great career with Aramark Uniform Services out of Burbank, Calif.  I manage their corporate accounts focusing on service, client retention and organic growth.  We live outside of Atlanta, Ga., in a town called Roswell.  Heidi has a strong tennis clientele where she coaches numerous USTA teams.  The majority of our time is spent with our boys at football, baseball, basketball and soccer fields.  We enjoy spending our weekends on our boat as a family and enjoying the south.
