Spring Game Tickets Go on Sale on Feb. 3

The Nebraska Athletic Department has announced that tickets for the Red-White Spring Game will go on sale on Wednesday, Feb. 3, beginning at 8 a.m. The 2010 spring football game is set for Saturday, April 17, at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is 1 p.m.

Nebraska fans may purchase tickets online at Huskers.com, by phone at 1-800-8-BIG-RED, or in person at the Nebraska Athletic Ticket Office, located in the Stadium Drive Parking Garage. Reserved tickets are $10 each.

For the second straight year, Nebraska will be selling nearly all of Memorial Stadium on a reserved ticket basis for the spring game. The move last year was met with a favorable response from fans who bought nearly all of the tickets for the 2009 spring game several weeks before the contest.

Athletic department officials expect a similar response in 2010, meaning it is likely there will be no ticket sales on the day of the game, and fans are encouraged to get their tickets early. Last year more than 45,000 tickets were sold by the end of the first day of sales and nearly 60,000 were sold within a week.

Also due to reserved seating, all individuals must have a ticket for the game. Only a handful of sections designated for specific groups will be withheld from the reserved ticket sales.

Nebraska will once again conduct the Drug Free Pledge at halftime of this year's game. Youth (eighth grade or younger) who take part in the Drug Free Pledge will be admitted for free to the game, but need to secure a ticket in advance of the contest. Parents or sponsors of the youth taking part in the Drug Free Pledge will need to buy a reserved ticket, but will be seated with the youth in a designated section in North Stadium.

UNL faculty and staff will be able to purchase reserved tickets to the spring game for $5. Faculty and staff should purchase their tickets in person at the ticket office or over the phone, and will also be asked to show their staff ID at the gate on the day of the game.

UNL students will be admitted for free to the game, but will need to have a ticket in hand for admittance. UNL students should also go to Huskers.com beginning on Feb. 3 to secure their ticket for the game.

The Husker Nation Pavilion will once again be a part of the festivities for the Red-White Spring Game and a busy day for Nebraska Athletics. In addition to the spring football game, NU will have home contests in baseball and softball and spring contests in soccer and volleyball. More information on those events will be available in the coming weeks.
