Brown Says Huskers Ready to Bounce Back in Stillwater

By NU Athletic Communications
The Nebraska football team took the practice field on Wednesday, for a two-hour workout in preparation for the upcoming game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The Huskers practiced in half pads, while utilizing both the Hawks Championship Center and the Ed and Joyanne Gass practice fields just northeast of Memorial Stadium.  Tight ends coach Ron Brown said Wednesday's practice was very crisp and knows the team will bounce back from their disappointing 20-13 loss to Texas last weekend.

"Our football team, I really believe has good resiliency," Brown said.  "As I've witnessed things in the last three years, we've learned, it's not an automatic process, but we've learned to come back. We've learned to rise up out of the ashes. I think Bo (Pelini) does a great job of providing the inspiration to come back and to get the right paradigm about things. I think that's really important, because you have to have perspective and you can't let a game that gets away from you keep getting away from you. You have to learn to re-shift.

Brown also touched on the Huskers' next opponent the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The Huskers will be playing in their third road game of the season after going 2-0 in their first two. Coach Brown said the Huskers are looking forward to the challenge the Cowboys will present in Stillwater.

"Our football team gives them great respect," Brown said "We know what we're going into. We're going into a hornets' nest down there in terms of them having great fan support, but we like the adversity and we like the challenge. If you have any kind of a competitive spirit in you at all, you relish these times. I like the way our players are responding, but we're going to have to put it on film on Saturday."

The Huskers will return to the practice field on Thursday for their final workout in Lincoln. Nebraska and Oklahoma State will kick off from T. Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Okla., at 2:30 p.m CT. The game is available regionally on ABC. Check back to for more updates on the Husker football team.
