The Nebraska football team worked out for two hours in Memorial Stadium Thursday, as it gets set for a Saturday morning showdown with the Iowa State Cyclones at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames.

“It was a good day today,” Head Coach Bo Pelini said. “I thought we had a good week of practice. Hopefully it translates to the game. That’s the key. We’ve got to make sure we take the good things we did, make sure we get the things corrected we need corrected, so we can put it all together consistently on Saturday.”

Cyclone quarterback Austen Arnaud will provide a tough challenge for the Husker defense on Saturday. Arnaud has completed 60.4 percent of his passes this season and in the last three games, has racked up 30 rushing attempts.

“I just see him growing in the offense, the offense growing with him, and they’re using his talents very well,” Pelini said.

“I think he’s a good player. I think they’ve done a good job bringing him along. He’s obviously coached very well. You just see the kid gaining confidence as the season goes on. He’s a good player now and I think he’s just going to get better.”

Pelini said linebackers Cody Glenn and Phillip Dillard will play Saturday. In other injury news, cornerback Anthony Blue returned to practice this week for the first time since tearing his ACL in winter conditioning. Pelini said Blue’s recovery is ahead of schedule, and he should be full speed for winter conditioning and spring ball.

The Huskers will do a walkthrough Friday in Memorial Stadium before heading for Ames. Kickoff is set for 11:30 a.m. with television coverage by the Versus network.
