The Nebraska football team practiced for a little over two hours Wednesday inside Memorial Stadium in preparation for its upcoming game against Baylor on Saturday. The Huskers practiced in full pads in preparation for the Bears and their talented true freshman quarterback Robert Griffin.  Head coach Bo Pelini noted that he is impressed with Griffin’s play-making ability and hopes the Husker defense can keep him in the pocket throughout the game.

“Our guys have respect for him,” Pelini said. “We have some things in place to hopefully keep him in the pocket. He’s a tremendous athlete. I watched the third-down reel last night and watched him make people miss, and watched him getting out of trouble where it looks like he’s boxed in and he finds his way out. He’s a pretty special athlete.”

Along with Griffin’s scrambling ability, coach Pelini has also been impressed with his passing game as well.

“He has a strong arm,” Pelini said.  “They have a different kind of passing game.  You can’t compare this guy to anybody we have played yet.  He’s more athletic than anybody we have seen.  It’s fun to watch him on film.”

The Huskers and Bears will battle Saturday with kickoff scheduled for 11:37 a.m. CT. The game will be carried on the Versus Network. Check Huskers.com for more information on this week’s match up with Baylor.
