The Nebraska football team wrapped up its final padded practice in preparation for the Kansas Jayhawks with a two-hour workout inside the Hawks Championship Center Thursday.
“Not bad,” Head Coach Bo Pelini said of Thursday’s practice. “We did some good things. We did some things that need to get fixed. Overall, a pretty good Thursday. We’ve just got to finish up our preparation tomorrow and get ready to go.”
The Huskers may experience their first cold-weather game of the season this Saturday. The forecast calls for game-time temperatures in the low-40s and strong winds.
Pelini said the weather won’t change anything the Huskers do on the field.
“It’s just part of the deal,” Pelini said. “In November, you’re going to have to deal with this. I don’t know what the forecast is calling for, but it doesn’t matter to us. Whatever happens happens and it’s the same for both teams.”
Pelini said offensive tackle Lydon Murtha is “probably doubtful” for Saturday’s game and receiver Menelik Holt is most likely going to be available. The Huskers expect five or six official recruits to visit this weekend, Pelini said.
Nebraska and Kansas kick off at 1:30 p.m. with television coverage available on a pay-per-view basis. Click the link at the top of the page for information on how to order the game.
